Bryan Whitty
Founder & Principal Consultant · Crane Advisory Group
Bryan Whitty is the Founder and Principal Consultant of Crane Advisory Group. He has spent more than 15 years inside the overhead crane and material handling industry — on the manufacturing, service and project side — before moving to the owner's side of the table full time.
His career has been built in national technical sales and business development roles with Canadian overhead crane manufacturers and service organizations, including WF Steel and Crane, CRS Cranesystems and Hoisting Ltd., where he specified, quoted, sold and supported top-running and under-running bridge cranes, gantry and jib cranes, hoists, runway systems and crane modernizations for customers from British Columbia through Ontario.
That work covered the full lifecycle: writing and reviewing crane specifications, scoping duty class and options against real production duty, managing installation and commissioning projects, structuring preventive maintenance and inspection programs, and handling the repair-versus-replace and modernization conversations that come with aging equipment.
Working across mining, steel and metals, oil and gas, power generation, pulp and paper, wastewater and general manufacturing gave him a clear view of a recurring problem: owners were making six- and seven-figure crane decisions using information supplied entirely by the parties selling the equipment. Crane Advisory Group exists to close that gap.
Based in St. Albert, Alberta and working with clients across Canada and the United States, Bryan advises owners, engineering firms, EPCM project teams and industrial operators on crane procurement, bid and specification review, maintenance program design, modernization and owner's-representative support — referencing CSA B167, CMAA 70/74, ASME B30 and applicable provincial and OSHA requirements. CAG sells no cranes, parts or service, holds no manufacturer or dealer agreements, and earns no commission on any recommendation.
Backed by more than 15 years of experience in the overhead crane industry. That experience is applied on behalf of owners, EPCMs, engineering firms and industrial operators — never on behalf of a manufacturer, dealer or service provider.

Disclosure
Other business interests, stated openly
Yes, and it is disclosed openly. Bryan Whitty separately operates Arvanta Industrial Partners, which provides Canadian market representation for manufacturers of crane components and technologies. The two practices are kept strictly separate: Crane Advisory Group will not review, evaluate, recommend or specify any product line represented by Arvanta, and any potential overlap is disclosed to the client in writing before an engagement begins. If a review would touch a represented line, CAG declines the engagement or excludes that scope.
Crane Advisory Group's only revenue from an advisory engagement is the advisory fee. CAG earns no commission, referral fee or margin on any equipment, part, repair or service contract that follows from a review.
